What is certification?
Certification, as it is commonly understood in our society, is a credential earned when someone "stands" for a national or an international examination. It means these candidates have been willing to "go the extra mile" to compare their knowledge and skill against a national norm.
We offer 3 National Certifications:The PCE (Professional Certified Electrologist) was developed in conjunction with NOCTI standards and is recognized as a national certification. The test is administered by a proctor. CPCT (Certified Permanent Cosmetics Technician) This test is administered in person by a proctor at a local test location. The CPCT exam can be used to demonstrate advanced skill in permanent cosmetics to employers and clients to help advance ones career. There is an optional camouflage section for those seeking to focus on camouflage permanent cosmetics. Members $215, non-members $245. CLP (Certified laser professional) is a national certification that technicians can use to demonstrate their background knowledge of laser treatments. The online exam consists of 100 questions that must be answered in 120 minutes and touches on several key issues pertaining to safety, terminology, applications, back ground and specifications. The test or recertification is required annually and must be taken by any member seeking insurance for any laser or IPL treatment. For members, the test is $300, for nonmembers, $595.
Why Should I Become Certified?Because dedicated professionals seek to improve their skills and to provide a benchmark for clients seeking treatment. Many technicians become certified to improve themselves and the profession, or simply to advertise their credential to their clients or potential clients.
A chance to choose a national certification test developed in conjunction with America's foremost provider of high quality written and performance competency tests (NOCTI). Nationally validated, the PCE and the CPCT join the international quest toward sound credentialing. Simply register for your exam over the phone or through the mail. You will receive your study manual in about one week. After you have studied, call the Allied Health Association and we will assign you to a testing site in your area. We will need a two-week notice of what date you desire to take the test. |
