As we age, the underlying muscles become elastic and unable to support the skin tissue attached to them. In addition, the skin loses it's ability to regenerate new tissue and its ability to moisturize itself. Fluid buildup, wrinkles, and sagging are the end result of this process. The Bio-Electric Rejuvenation Unit uses a variety of frequencies to stimulate cells and re-educate muscles. The equipment uses universal healing frequencies to tone muscles, reduce fluid retention, and to soften wrinkles. Specific techniques are used to lift and keep muscles firm. This process also creates elasticity in the tissue keeping the skin healthy. The number of treatments a person needs depends upon their age and condition when they first begin treatment. It is recommended that the client come in for an initial series of two or three treatments a week for five to six weeks. This will re-tone the muscles and rejuvenate the skin. After the initial series, most clients come in once every month for a maintenance treatment to keep the muscles tight and healthy. Incredible as a preventative and as a corrective treatment.
Most clients see a difference on the very first treatment. In fact, it is advisable to treat only 1/2 of the face during the consultation so that your client can understand the subtle differences that occur with each treatment. Treatments take approximately 20-25 minutes and are pleasant and relaxing. Because the equipment operates at micro amperage levels, the client usually cannot feel any electrical sensation. With a surgical face lift, the muscles and skin are cut and stretched. Within a few years after a surgical lift, muscles and skin will again begin to sag. The Bio-Electric can be used to enhance or maintain many surgical procedures, providing that the area has completely healed.
Until the mid thirties, most women retain the fresh smooth, wrinkle free skin of their youth. Both skin and facial muscles are still firm and elastic, so facial contours remain smooth and well defined. It is shortly after the age of thirty-five however, that the first signs of aging appear. This aging process happens so gradually that you won't even notice. That is, until you compare your reflection in the mirror to a photograph taken just five years ago. You will be shocked to find you look different - you look older!
It is the collapse of the upper cheek muscles which may cause most of the aging signs in the face.
By the age of forty-five, the upper cheek muscles may elongate by as much as half an inch,
dragging the skin over the cheeks downward to form plump little pouches by the corners of the mouth (called jowls).
The muscles under the chin become looser and the jaw line loses its firm contour. Even as little as a quarter of an inch stretch in the tiny eye muscles will cause the outer corners of the upper eyelids to droop over the lower ones. The alert freshness of youth will be gone. The overly stretched skin around the eyes creates a heavy lidded appearence with many lines and folds. Pouches collect beneath the eyes.
By the age of fifty-five the upper cheek muscles will have stretched by at least three quarters of an inch, forming creases around the ears, mouth and jaw line. Neck muscles will have also lost their tone and become slack and start to form neck rolls or cords. Loose, stretched skin sags toward the forward part of the neck. In profile the tip of the chin seems to be an extension of the neck - the beginning of the all too familiar "turkey neck" of old age.
